What does BC's deposit/refund program cover?

The beverage container schedule of the Recycling Regulation encompasses all containers of "ready-to-drink" beverages. Examples of products in this system include juice, pop, water, iced tea, sport drinks, wine, coolers and spirit containers.

As of February 2022, milk and plant-based beverages like oat, soy, and almond are also included under the deposit refund program. Non-included products include infant formula, meal replacements, concentrates, and products like whipping cream and drinkable yogurt. Containers that are exempt from the regulation won't carry a deposit.
