The Container Recycling Fee (CRF) represents the cost of recycling the beverage container you purchased. Prior to the spring of 2000, this fee was incorporated into the price of the beverage. In order to educate consumers about the cost of the system, Return-It has encouraged retailers to show this fee as a separate item on your till receipt. There is also a deposit fee for all eligible products charged at the point of purchase. While the deposit fee is returned to customers when these containers are brought back for recycling, the recycling fee is not. For more information about this fee system, see a list of recycling fees on the Return-It website.
