What are some examples of EPR?

Warning message

Some recycling and solid waste facilities are temporarily closed, operating with reduced hours, or accepting a limited range of materials – please call ahead. Consider delaying your visit to facilities unless absolutely necessary by storing dry recyclables and other items at home temporarily.

Currently, British Columbia has many stewardship agencies running recycling programs for hundreds of products, such as electronics, fluorescent lights, batteries, paint and tires. As more materials are regulated into EPR programs by the BC Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy, more stewardship agencies will be created.

One of the more popular EPR programs in British Columbia is the beverage container recycling program. This is also the only program with a deposit/refund system.

You can find a complete list of BC's EPR programs on the Stewardship Agencies of British Columbia website.
