Recycling systems are complex. Programs vary from one community to another, packaging materials are constantly evolving and media messages are often conflicting or unclear. Global recycling stats may sound relevant, but they often do not apply to what is collected and processed locally. The result? Confusion and a growing disconnect between how people think recycling works and how it actually does.
Register below and join us for Spreading Good Information, a cross-sector event that explores how public communications and media, advertising, education campaigns, program materials, and high-profile stories shape public perception of recycling. This event will examine where communication breaks down, what the public gets wrong (and why), and how to create more consistent, trusted information that supports better recycling practices and environmental outcomes across BC.

This event is designed for anyone involved in public education, sustainability, recycling, government, or media in British Columbia, from communication professionals and journalists to outreach staff, policy makers and educators.
