Join us for, Exploring material exchange: Finding new life for surplus goods, a conversation about the platforms that have been developed to keep materials and products at their highest value, and out of landfill, in BC. We’ll hear from organizations that design, operate and support the information infrastructure and networks that make this possible. We’ll also discuss how these can be improved in BC, the gaps that exist and how we can expand these platforms to make material exchange a more common practice around the province.
Description:
Would you go to Facebook marketplace to look for donated food? Where do you go to find a home for 100 doors you have left over from a construction project?
The ability to connect to exchange goods or materials are one of the greatest benefits of modern-day technology. Are we making the most of this potential in BC? How exactly are we using it to advance reuse, repurposing and circularity in BC?
At our next Speaker and Discussion series we will be exploring the landscape of exchanges, marketplaces and networks in BC that are keeping products and goods at their highest value. Join us to learn about how these platforms are built, how they work, what challenges they face and what gaps remain.

- Dreamstill Technologies
