What can I do with my spiral wound containers, such as those for juice concentrate, potato chips, cookie dough, or coffee?

Warning message

Some recycling and solid waste facilities are temporarily closed, operating with reduced hours, or accepting a limited range of materials – please call ahead. Consider delaying your visit to facilities unless absolutely necessary by storing dry recyclables and other items at home temporarily.

Spiral wound containers are included in a provincial recycling program managed by Recycle BC. These containers have a spiral wound cardboard cylinder center, with plastic or metal on the top and bottom of the container. Many curbside collection programs now include these items in the container recycling bin or blue box, provided that they are free of food residue.  For more information on recycling options in your local area, visit the Recycle BC website or contact the RCBC Recycling Hotline.
