What can I do with household alkaline batteries? (With Bonus Video)

Warning message

Some recycling and solid waste facilities are temporarily closed, operating with reduced hours, or accepting a limited range of materials – please call ahead. Consider delaying your visit to facilities unless absolutely necessary by storing dry recyclables and other items at home temporarily.

The Call2Recycle program, funded by the battery and portable electronics industry, provides convenient drop-off locations for batteries throughout North America. All Call2Recycle drop-off depots in British Columbia will accept household alkaline batteries, as well as rechargeable batteries, free of charge. For drop-off locations in your neighbourhood, contact the RCBC Recycling Hotline or search by postal code at Call2Recycle
