Where can I take my electrical power tools for recycling?

Warning message

Some recycling and solid waste facilities are temporarily closed, operating with reduced hours, or accepting a limited range of materials – please call ahead. Consider delaying your visit to facilities unless absolutely necessary by storing dry recyclables and other items at home temporarily.

The Canadian Electrical Stewardship Association is the organization that manages a province wide recycling program, ElectroRecycle, for small electrical appliances including power tools.  Electrical tools can be dropped off for free at a number of ElectroRecycle depots across the province.  For a complete list of tools accepted under this program, visit the ElectroRecycle website.

Any small batteries that are accessible should be removed from the electrical tools and can then be recycled separately through the Call2Recycle program.  All batteries that are contained within the product do not need to be removed and can be recycled with the product itself.  To find the nearest drop off locations, visit the ElectroRecycle website or contact the RCBC Recycling Hotline
